Jane Seymour (1509-1537) - one of the six wives of the English king Henry VIII, his favorite. She did not have a brilliant education, she preferred to spend time embroidering. Her motto, "ready to obey and serve," reflected both the queen's character and her attitude towards her husband. Not surprisingly, she followed it all her life.
Jane Seymour gave Henry a son, the only male heir, but died a few days later. The king bequeathed to bury himself next to Jane.
