SHAKHOVSKOY Ivan Leontievich, prince, general of infantry, adjutant general. Descended from an ancient family of Yaroslavl princes, Rurikovich. Participant of the foreign campaigns of the Russian army in 1813-1814. In the campaign of 1813, as part of the Bohemian army, he distinguished himself in the battle of Kalisz, was in the battles of Lutzen, Bautzen and Kulm. For his distinction in the "Battle of the Nations" near Leipzig he was awarded the rank of lieutenant general. During the campaign of 1814 he took part in battles with the French at Bar-sur-Aub, Fere-Champenoise and during the capture of Paris. During the Crimean War of 1853-1856. commanded over the state mobile militia of the St. Petersburg province. Buried at the cemetery of the Novodevichy Convent in St. Petersburg.
