Gold ring of Russia
The Golden Ring is a popular tourist route in Central Russia, passing through Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanov, Suzdal and Vladimir. Some also include Moscow, Gus-Khrustalny and Uglich on this list. In the cities of the Golden Ring, tourists admire traditional Russian architecture, visit churches, monasteries and museums. The author of the term and the very idea of the circular route is the journalist and writer Yuri Bychkov, who published in the newspaper "Soviet Culture" in November-December 1967 a series of essays about ancient Russian cities under the general heading "Golden Ring"
