The history of the Holy Vvedensky Tolgsky Monastery is associated with the Russian Orthodox shrine - the miraculous Tolgsky Icon of the Mother of God. One of the oldest in Russia - was founded at the beginning of the XIV century. Rostov bishop Prokhor on the occasion of the "appearance" of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos to him. Now it is a convent with over a hundred sisters living in it.
