Slavic mythology: Semargl

Semargl is the god of fire and fire sacrifices, the son of Svarog. According to legend, after Svarog hit the Alatyr stone with a magical hammer, sparks were struck, from the flaming flame of which the fiery god Semargl appeared. The newly-appeared deity sat on a golden-maned horse of a silvery suit. Wherever the god of fire appeared, wherever the god of fire passed, a scorched trace remained everywhere. And an omen of the imminent appearance of Semargl is the appearance of a thick black thought. The symbol of the deity is a sacred winged dog, in the guise of which Semargl himself could also appear.
