“After the wedding ceremony, a festive dinner was arranged for all the royal guests. At about four o'clock in the afternoon, the royal carriage took the newlyweds to Windsor Palace.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Osborne, and when they returned to Windsor, the Queen was pleased to note that they were noticeably prettier.
"Alix looked extremely sweet and charming at dinner," the queen wrote in her diary, "and Bertie was just beaming with happiness."
