Grace O'Malley

The famous Irish pirate known also as Graine, Grania, Granual. She was called "the queen of the pirates", "the witch of Rockfleet."
In 1988, the Irish writer Anne Chambers published the novel Granual, The Pirate Queen. Several works have been created based on his motives, including the Broadway musical Grania (1989) and the play The Pirate Queen (2006). Sean Davie, an Irish composer, wrote the rock opera Granual, and in 2008 it was planned to make a film about it in Hollywood, based on the script of the same Anne Chambers.
