Amalie von Schintling is the daughter of Major Lorenz von Schintling. The portrait of nineteen-year-old Amalia was painted by the Bavarian artist Josef Karl Stieler. Shortly after, in the same year 1931, when her portrait was taken, she contracted tuberculosis and died.
The portrait is in the gallery of beauties of the Nymphenburg castle.
