We will need:
1 tbsp. Sahara
100 ml dark syrup or liquid honey
100 ml of water
150 g butter or margarine
¼ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp ground ginger
¼ tsp carnation
700 g flour
2 tsp soda
Syrup: 500 g sugar
½ cup hot water
Bring 2/3 of the amount of sugar to brown in a pan with a thick bottom (the heating must be quite strong, otherwise sugar lumps will form, which cannot be removed. Add hot water, the remaining sugar and boil the syrup.
Dough: Pour water, syrup and sugar into a saucepan. Let it boil. Stir until sugar dissolves, remove from heat. Add butter or margarine and spices. Stir into a homogeneous mass. In another container, mix flour and baking soda. Pour in the warm syrup mixture. Knead the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, roll out the dough on a floured table and cut out the cookies. When rolling, you don't need a lot of flour, the dough is obedient, non-sticky.
Put the cookies on a baking sheet, bake for 7-9 minutes at 200˚.
