Robert Downey Jr. was born on April 4, 1965 in New York to an acting family. His father is director Robert Downey Sr., his mother is actress Elsie Downey.
Already at the age of 5, he made his debut in one of his father's films. But fame came to him in 1992 after the movie "Chaplin", in which he played the most legendary comedian. For this role, he received a BAFTA Award for Best Actor and was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. The role of Tony Stark in the film "Iron Man" brought him worldwide fame. After the release of the film, the film studios began to literally bombard him with offers.
