60 years of the film "The Cranes Are Flying"

The black and white feature film directed by Mikhail Kalatozov was shot in 1957 based on the play by Viktor Rozov "Forever Alive". The film is rightfully considered one of the best Russian films about the war. The first and so far the last film from Russia, which received the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1958.
In the center of the film story is the tragic fate of two lovers who were separated by the War forever. The main roles were played by Tatiana Samoilova and Alexey Batalov.
