A light, nutty and herbal-rich sauce infused with classic Italian flavors. It goes well with both fish and meat.
1. Place the basil, garlic, nuts, and olive oil in a food processor and scroll until smooth. But don't overdo it, the sauce should be rough. Season.
2. Add cheese to the food processor and turn on for a few more seconds.
Add to freshly cooked pasta (pasta) and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Try to do this
Top the cod or salmon fillets with the pesto sauce and wrap in Parma ham. Drizzle a little olive oil and bake for 10 minutes at 200 g. Serve with a crispy green salad.
Pesto is a great substitute for traditional tomato-based pizza sauce.
Bake vegetables (of your choice) in the oven and serve with pesto sauce.
Try other herbs instead of basil; coriander or parsley works well.
If you can't find pine nuts, use almonds or hazelnuts.
For reference
Pesto is a type of sauce preparation that is served with meat, fish, chicken, and pasta. This is a classic option that can be combined with various additives.
In traditional Italian cuisine, this sauce is prepared using a mortar and pestle. The verb "pestare" in Italian means "to stomp, rub, crush", hence the name "pesto".
