This is the main hall of the New York Public Library - one of the largest in the world - with tall windows and chandeliers that provide the necessary light; the furnishings are comfortable armchairs and sturdy wooden tables with brass lamps on them.
The foundation stone of the building was laid in May 1902. On its opening day, the library had over 120 kilometers of bookshelves.
