Kustodiev Boris (Boris Kustodiev) - Russian Soviet artist. An academician of painting, a student of Ilya Repin, Kustodiev painted a lot from life, was especially fond of portraits, worked on paintings dedicated to Russian provincial life, genre sketches of village life, was engaged in the design of books, posters, calendars. He also illustrated "Pushkin's Tales", drew sketches for the decoration of revolutionary holidays and demonstrations, collaborated with theaters, created scenery for the operas "The Tsar's Bride", "The Snow Maiden". Kustodiev simultaneously worked on depicting his ideal of Russian beauty in "Gone Rus".
