Jessie Arms Botke

Jessie Arms Botke (1883-1971) is an American artist who held one of the leading positions in the California School of Impressionism. Born May 27, 1883 in Chicago. There she received an art education at the Institute of Art. In 1911 he moved to New York, where he became an employee of Albert Herter, who was engaged in making tapestry sketches. Back in Chicago, Jesse Arms married Dutch-born artist Cornelius Botck, and they worked together on murals for the Chicago-based company Kellogg and the University of Chicago.
