Alexander Roslin
Alexander Roslin (Roslin Aleksander) is a Swedish painter, portrait painter who worked at the court of the Russian Empress Catherine II. His portraits of the reigning persons were used for multiple copying, including by Russian portrait painters, for example, Rokotov. In his best portraits, Alexander Roslin combined the showiness and brightness of characterization with the masterly skill of the artist.
