Glorfindel

In the legendarium of John R.R.Tolkien, an elf from the Noldor of Gondolin.

Glorfindel was born in the Age of Trees in Valinor and descended from the Calaquendi, the Eldar high elves of the Noldor tribe.
During the War of the Ring, Glorfindel led the military forces of Rivendell and took a direct part in escorting Frodo on the approaches to Elrond's domain, meeting him near the Bruinen Ferry. When the detachment, led by Aragorn, was attacked by nine Nazgуловl, he did not hesitate to give Frodo his horse Asfaloth, who brought Frodo to the border of Rivendell, and he, together with Aragorn, pushed the nine Nazg back to the river, where they fell under the magical blow of the lord Elrond.
Subsequently, Glorfindel participated in the Council of Elrond, at which the question of the fate of the Ring of Power was decided.
