Tuileries Palace

Tuileries is the palace of the French kings in the center of Paris, which formed a single palace and park complex with the Louvre. Built for Catherine de Medici. The palace was built on the site of a tile factory, and it was from there that the tiles were taken for the construction of a new palace. Since the time of Louis XVI, the Tuileries Palace has become the main residence of all subsequent French monarchs. It was burned down in the days of the Paris Commune and after that it was not rebuilt. The palace consisted of the central building of the Clock and two wings connected to it - the so-called. pavilions Marsan and Flora. At present, a park of the same name is laid out on the site of the main part of the palace. The pavilions have survived and are part of the Louvre complex.
