Chateau Bomenil was built under Louis 13 in 1633-1640. Count Jacques de Nonan built it for his wife Maria Dove Demare. The castle was built on the site of an old medieval fortress, which in turn was built in 1250. The castle is a historical monument. On the territory of 50 hectares there is a French-style park. The Beamenil Castle houses the National Archives of France and the Museum of Bindings.
