The Fourth Great Beauty Yang Kuei-fei - "Embarrassed Flowers" - lived during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907).
Her family name is Yang Yu Huan. Jan was left an orphan early, but this, in the end, played in her favor. Since, left without a father, she was brought up in the house of her rich uncle, where she received an excellent upbringing: she was taught the art of dance, versification and singing, playing musical instruments and even horseback riding.

At the age of 16, the beautiful Yang Yuhuan became the wife (sold by the uncle) of the prince of Shouwan Province, who was the heir to the Tang Emperor Xuanzong.
According to legend, Yang Kuei-fei admired the flowers in the garden and grieved over her fate. She stroked the bashful mimosa with her hands. As soon as she touched the flowers, the flowers curled up, and the stems bent down. One of the servants saw this and conveyed to one of the emperor's spouses that Yang Kuei-fei is so beautiful that flowers are embarrassedly bowing before her.
Yang Kuei-fei was 19 years old when the emperor saw her in the bath. Her beauty was unrivaled. And Emperor Xuanzong could not remain indifferent. Five years later, a new wife was found for the prince, and then Xuan Zong was able to officially introduce Yang Yu Huan to his palace, who henceforth received the title of Gui Fei - "precious wife".
The life of the Emperor and Yang Gui Fei was full of idylls. Meanwhile, the war on the borders with the nomads did not stop, and Xuan Zong, meanwhile, was building the luxurious HuaQing palace in the LiShan mountains for his beloved. And in 756 in Sichuan, the imperial troops revolted.
Xuanzong himself, along with Yang Guifei and other courtiers, fled south. On the way, the soldiers began to grumble, blaming the favorite for everything that had happened. They said that she and her relatives plundered the treasury, that a rebellion broke out because of her. She was accused of witchcraft, as if she bewitched the emperor, and maintained her beauty with the help of a magic potion.
An open mutiny broke out. The soldiers demanded the release of the favorite. After half an hour of tense waiting, two servants carried Yang Gui Fei's body out of the gate of the house. Gao Lishi, who followed, announced that the "Precious Consort" had committed suicide. Seeing his beloved dead, old Xuanzong collapsed unconscious.

Under the poet's pen, the banal story of a court favorite turned into a story of immortal love, known today to all the inhabitants of China.
The deposed Emperor Xuanzong died in May 762. The Tang Empire was never able to regain its power.
We hardly ever know whether Yang Gui Fei used her beauty solely as a weapon or whether her love was really sincere and the beauty was simply used in political struggle. But in fact, she became exactly what Xuan Zong was looking for - a woman who "destroyed states with her eyes."
