Andromeda is the daughter of the Ethiopian king Kefei and Cassiopeia. Once Cassiopeia declared that she was the most beautiful, and then the angry goddesses turned to Poseidon with a plea for revenge. Poseidon was angry, and in order to tame his anger, the local oracle advised to sacrifice Andromeda.
Chained to the cliff, Andromeda was at the mercy of the monster Poseidon. In this position, Perseus saw her, and, fascinated by her beauty, turned the monster into stone, showing him the face of Medusa the Gorgon.
Andromeda became queen and gave birth to children to Perseus.
