Mammatus clouds are one of the rare types of clouds. They got their name for their characteristic shape. The umbilical clouds are usually gray-blue, but when exposed to sunlight, they can change the palette. The appearance of such a picturesque "picture" in the sky does not bode well: the formation of udder-like clouds indicates an impending hurricane or tropical cyclone. Moreover, they can be located from the thunderstorm at a distance of several tens of kilometers.
