Anabar plateau

Anabar is one of the oldest mountain plateaus on Earth, which is more than 3 billion years old. It is located in the northeastern part of the Central Siberian Plateau between the Putorana Mountains and the Lena River. Anabar is rightfully considered an open-air museum of the geological history of the Earth. As a result of long geological processes associated with the destruction and formation of rocks, a unique relief with fantastic mountain creations has been created here. One of the most majestic landscapes on Earth was created here by the Kotuikan River, which for millions of years cut its valley in these rocks. The Anabar plateau is one of the most inaccessible and ecologically clean places in Russia. Due to its inaccessibility and exceptional remoteness, this area has not been affected by human economic activities, therefore, truly pristine nature has been preserved in this unique region.
