Adriano Celentano (born January 6, 1938, Milan, Italy) is an Italian musician, film actor, pop singer, film director, composer, public figure.
Celentano is one of the most successful and influential performers in the history of Italian music - in his entire career, he released forty-one studio albums with a total circulation of 150 million, and also starred in more than forty films. It is very popular with Russian audiences thanks to the comedy films "The Taming of the Shrew", "Bluff", "Madly in Love" and "Bingo-Bongo".
Celentano was in Russia only once: in 1987. Then he came at the invitation of the Union of Cinematographers to support perestroika. ... And in Moscow, his popularity, at one time, was indescribable. The Russians still remain his most loyal fans: on the page of the singer and actor on foreign sites dedicated to music, the singer is more often written in Russian, a little less in Italian. And Adriano is extremely sensitive to Russia.
In 2007 he topped the list of "100 Brightest Movie Stars" according to Time Out magazine.
