Mariam Escofet was born in 1967 in Barcelona, Spain, moved to England in 1979, where she graduated from Brighton College of Art with a degree in ceramics. She was fascinated by the three-dimensionality and textured properties of objects and space. The artist believes that the "structure" of her compositions, where the line between the use of a perspective and divine theme, is very thin. Gothic and Renaissance paintings, in which the beauty of the execution of details and textures reaches visual perfection, transports viewers to another world.
