Monastery of David's Hermitage

Ascension David's Hermitage ... This is one of the most beautiful spiritual treasures of the Moscow region, founded by the Monk David in a picturesque corner on the banks of the Lopasnya River in 1515, during the reign of the Grand Duke of Moscow and All Russia Vasily Ivanovich (Vasily III), father of Ivan IV the Terrible. The Monk David (in the world of Daniel), descended from the famous Russian Vyazemsky family, as a youth decided to devote himself to spiritual asceticism. At a little more than 20 years of age, he went to the Borovsky Rozhdestvensky monastery. About 40 years of David's life passed in this monastery, and here he was rewarded with the face of "saint".
