The history and architecture of ancient cities such as Pereslavl-Zalessky is an important part of the history and formation of the Russian state.
In the photo, the Transfiguration Cathedral is the earliest of the white-stone churches of North-Eastern Russia (built in 1152-1157). Nearby there is a monument to Alexander Nevsky. Since 1157, the cathedral has been preserved in almost its original form. On the memorial plaque on the facade of the temple, the words: "Here, near the cathedral, in the prince's chambers, on May 30, 1220, the great Russian commander, Prince Alexander Yaroslavich Nevsky, was born."
