Champs-sur-Marne manor chateau is a wonderful example of 18th century architecture, built in 1703 by the architect Pierre Bull and his son. It was often visited by Princess Conti, daughter of Louis XIV and Louise de Lavaliere, cousin of Louis XIV, Madame de Pompadour, Louis XV. The estate passed from one owner to another, until in 1935 the son of Count Louis Caen of Anversky transferred the estate to the state. Until 1974, Champs-sur-Marne was the guest residence of the presidents of the republic.
