Quedlinburg is an ancient city in Saxony-Anhalt. In 1995, the Old Town, including Schlossberg, was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. The city center includes more than 1600 houses that are more than 600 years old, and the city also has a castle, which was a monastery and an abbey. The abbey was founded in 936 by Otto I the Great, Duke of Saxony and King of Germany, to perpetuate the memory of Father Heinrich the Birdman. Currently, the monastery houses a local history museum.
