Tashkent Broadway

Rustam (born 1968) is an artist from Tashkent. The genre in which he works is usually called primitivism. This definition does not detract from the merits of his paintings - light, good-natured, detailed and attentive to the smallest details.
The pictures show easily recognizable images, places and situations, familiar to any Tashkent citizen from childhood. The irony with which the heroes of the paintings are depicted is very kind and correct, and this is a great gift - to be able to laugh at yourself and those around you, without causing a shadow of resentment in anyone.
