Daniel Maclise or Maclees (English Daniel Maclise, 1806 - 1870) - Irish and English painter, master of the historical genre, portrait painter, book illustrator and cartoonist, artist of Victorian academism. He illustrated books by Charles Dickens, Thomas Moore and William Shakespeare, was the author of a series of portraits of literary figures, a cartoonist and a master of the historical genre. His artistic style was significantly influenced by the ideas of the Pre-Raphaelites, and the author himself is often referred to this trend in art.
