The castle of Milandez on the left bank of the Dordogne River was founded in 1489 for his wife by François Comont, one of the representatives of the family of lords. After the French Revolution, the castle was abandoned for a long time, and at the beginning of the 20th century it was bought and restored by a French industrialist who made a fortune on underwear. The castle became famous in 1940, thanks to Josephine Baker, a Parisian cabaret dancer, who rented the castle and later bought it.
