Rolf Lidberg

The artist Rolf Jonas Lidberg (1930 - 2005) had a great passion for botany, especially orchids and mushrooms. He was one of the founders of the Sundsvalls Mycological Society. He traveled extensively throughout Europe to study and paint plants, spent a long time in Sicily, where he became an honorary citizen of the city of Geraci. He also did a television show called Walking in Tenerife. Rolf Jonas is known all over the world for his kind illustrations. Rolf Liedberg is very similar to the hero of his illustrations - he himself was a hunchback, with a big beard, and often went whistling. So they call his illustrations - self-portrait.
