55 kilometers southeast of Paris, not far from Fontainebleau, there is one of the most beautiful classical estates in France, exquisite and unsurpassed - Vaux-le-Vicomte. The Vaux-le-Vicomte estate was built in 1658-1661 by a special order for the Viscount Nicolas Fouquet.
The castle of Vaux-le-Vicomte is overflowing with beautiful frescoes depicting wonderful nymphs and divine creatures, the interiors of the castle shine with gilding and abound in works of art, their French army brought them from all over the world, and the intelligent and enterprising Fouquet carefully preserved in his estate. At the same time, the Vaux-le-Vicomte castle is one of the most visited places in France by tourists and guests of the country, and many will certainly strive to visit this attraction, because they know a lot about it from the famous novels of Alexander Dumas. It was thanks to his immortal romances that Nicolas Fouquet was recognized as a superintendent who was arrested by d'Artagnan by order of the king. And the shooting of the film "The Man in the Iron Mask" only fueled the desire of millions of people to see the grandeur of ancient tapestries, amazingly luxurious halls and offices, mesmerizing, chilling staircases, top quality wine cellars and mysterious underground passages.
From 1 May to 9 October, the castle hosts Candlelight Nights every Saturday. At this time, the palace and the surrounding park spaces are illuminated with thousands of candles. A mesmerizing sight.
