Medici fountain. Paris

The Medici Fountain is considered the most romantic fountain in Paris and is located in one of the most attractive corners of the Luxembourg Gardens. The Medici fountain dates back to the 17th century. It is a beautiful embodiment of exquisite Baroque architecture in the middle of picturesque nature. The decree for the creation of the fountain was signed by Maria Medici.

According to many assumptions, the Medici Fountain was built by Salomon de Bross, and the mythical sculptures were made by Auguste Otten. On one side of the fountain, there is an episode when a Centaur, made of bronze, is about to pounce on a marble-made Galatea, suspecting nothing and in the arms of Acis. On the other hand, you can see an impressive bas-relief depicting Leda with a beautiful swan.
