Hohenzollern Castle

Not far from Tübingen, a picturesque hill topped with an old castle rises above the Zollern River. The Germans and many tourists call the Hohenzollern Castle “the castle in the clouds”. Indeed, they were not destroyed by sieges and wars and were preserved in their original form during the reconstruction of the castle.
The architectural ensemble, which is the last stronghold of the entire royal family, is located just forty miles north of Stuttgard. An amazing forest, mountain, clouds, castle - and that's not all. The interior of the Hohenzollern castle is also striking. It contains not only unique canvases, antique furniture, art objects, relics and souvenirs that belonged to the royal family, but also the Crown of the Prussian Kings, military ammunition of kings and knights stored here. Here you can see Frederick's uniform pierced by a bullet, which he skillfully darned with his own hands. They will also show the snuff-box, dented by the same bullet that saved the king's life. Graceful ceiling paintings, luxurious draperies, antique tapestries, marble columns remind of the past greatness.
