Yenovden / June 24 / An ancient Bulgarian custom, which in its essence corresponds to the Russian holiday of Ivan Kupala. According to popular legend, Yenovden means the beginning of winter. It is believed that on this day the sun bathes in water and from this it acquires magical healing power. Anyone who sees the sunrise will be healthy for a whole year. At dawn, herbalists come out to collect medicinal herbs for the next year. On this day, a wreath of 77 and a half different herbs is necessarily woven - for all diseases and for the one that has no name.
