From the life of Russian cities
Totma, a city in the Vologda region. The main attraction of Totma is considered to be a whole constellation of amazing temples built at the expense of local merchant sailors in a special architectural style - the Totem baroque. The stone laces on the walls of these churches - cartouches, or “hallmarks” - are one of the main wonders of both the city and the entire Vologda region, which took an honorable place in the final list of finalists of the multimedia Internet competition “Russia 10”.
