Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ on the Blood or the Temple of Spa-on-Blood in St. Petersburg - an Orthodox memorial single-altar church in the name of the Resurrection of Christ; erected in memory of the fact that on this site on March 1 [13], 1881, as a result of an attempt on his life, Emperor Alexander II was mortally wounded (the expression on the blood indicates the blood of the king). The temple was built as a monument to the Tsar-Martyr by decree of Emperor Alexander III in 1883-1907 with funds raised throughout Russia.
Located in the historical center of St. Petersburg on the banks of the Griboyedov Canal next to the Mikhailovsky Garden and Konyushennaya Square, not far from the Field of Mars. The height of the nine-domed temple is 81 m, with a capacity of up to 1600 people. It is a museum and a monument of Russian architecture.
