In the Dubrovitsy estate there is a diamond of our Moscow region - the Church of the Sign, included in the UNESCO monuments.
The temple appeared in Dubrovitsy thanks to Boris Golitsyn, the tutor of Peter I. The details of the building are very unusual: the church is crowned with a crown, instead of frescoes, there is a huge number of sculptures on biblical themes. By the way, it is for this reason that the church is sometimes even called the "museum of sculpture". Golitsyn managed to build the Church of the Sign solely thanks to his good relations with Peter I, who was very interested in this project in the style of the early Italian Baroque. For that time, the temple was so atypical that the priests refused to consecrate it. Only after the death of Patriarch Adrian, the enemy of Catholicism, was the church consecrated.
