When I was just a child
In a city where you rarely find traffic jams
I had an elephant in my pocket
Small, tame and very timid.
If I was sad, scared,
It hurts, and desperate to shiver,
I knew - always in my pocket
The baby elephant sleeps, and it cannot be disturbed.
He loved cocoa and cheesecake
With a slightly dried crust. And often
I strove to dive deeper into the mug,
Turning your ears into flippers.
And when the sun went down behind the houses,
And the night light cast whimsical shadows
My baby elephant wiggled its ears
And climbed to my knees ...
My pocket, since then, is much narrower
It has become ... Hands cannot warm in it ...
Somewhere my elephant is running through the puddles,
Taking my childhood further and further ...
