Beauregard in translation means "beautiful view". The castle deserves this name and occupies a prominent position in the Loire Valley. He is really eye-catching. Located near the river, the palace served as a haven for those who like to hunt in this area. Prominent personalities have visited the castle. Francis I stayed in a hunting lodge in 1626; Richelieu preferred to stay here over the Château de Blois, which he considered an unreliable defense in the event of a conspiracy. The Marquis de Montpensier often came to Beauregard. The beautiful pearl of the Beauregard castle is the portrait gallery. It is notable primarily for the fact that there are no others like it anywhere in Europe. The collection is represented by 320 portraits of historical figures, starting with Philip VI of the Valois family and ending with Louis XIII. It spans three centuries. An interesting cabinet with bells, decorated in the 16th century, is fully lined with gilded carved oak panels. A large "collection" of copper utensils has been preserved in the kitchen. Beauregard is now the property of the Countess du Pavillon.
