Dmitry Melentjev, Dmitrij Melentjev, was born in Kazan on October 17, 1976. He is a graphic designer by education. He inherited his interest in painting from his grandfather, German Dmitrievich Melentiev, who was a portrait painter. Impressed by the work of his grandfather, Melentyev was engaged in painting for a long time, but this love gradually grew into a professional hobby for photography, he took it professionally since 2006.
One of the photographer's favorite genres is still life.
Melentiev loves to shoot compositions with fresh flowers, household items, and especially antiques. They, in his opinion, as well as flowers, have a special charm.
Dmitry carefully builds the frame, thinking it over to the smallest detail. To create backgrounds, he often uses paints: oil, gouache, watercolor, so his work is often mistaken for paintings. In addition, Dmitry pays great attention to lighting. His still lifes literally emit light, making you remember the literal translation of the word "photography" - "light painting". The favorite technique of the photographer is shooting through wet glass, as if fogged up or covered with rain drops, which makes his compositions even more picturesque. The photographer's passion for the art of Dutch artists can be seen in the works, and the color of the paintings of Kondrat Maksimov is visible in the flower compositions.
He is a prize-winner of regional, Russian and international photo contests, a participant in various photo exhibitions. Many of his works are in private collections.
