This fiery painting was created by Frederick Leighton shortly before his death, in 1895.
The model was the beautiful Dorothy Dean.
The idea of the painting "Flaming June" was accidentally suggested by Dorothy herself. The artist accidentally found her sleeping in his workshop.
He was amazed !!!
It is not known whether the artist and his last muse had a romantic relationship, but Leighton cared a lot about the girl - he was engaged in her education, often visited her parents' poor house and left her a significant amount according to his will.
Only an artist in love could paint such a picture.
