Selling time, omnipotence and dreams is great, no doubt, but it is difficult for mere mortals. Everything we have learned to sell is illusion.
"A colorful provincial town with a blue sky and yellow sand, lush green trees, toy houses, inhabited by squat inhabitants with a bewildered look. In this city, a janitor sweeps the cobblestone pavement with a huge broom, and at that moment a winged horse may fly in the sky or appear somewhere there is a sailboat on the horizon. And mysterious sellers of illusions walk the streets: the Time Seller, the Tea Seller, the Doll Seller, the Health Seller, the Music Seller. "
"What kind of city is this located in Kanchik's paintings? This is Sevastopol of the 50-60s, this is Macondo from the novel by Marquez, this dusty Chisinau is a generalized image of a provincial town that has its own attraction for an artist. Kanchik poeticizes - no, not kitsch, but childishness of perception.
The series is called "The City of My Childhood" ".
