Portrait of the Life-Hussar Colonel Evgraf Vladimirovich Davydov

A whole epic of searches is associated with the portrait. For about 130 years, it was believed that the portrait depicts the famous partisan hero Denis Davydov, "a poet, a swordsman, a merry fellow."
But, for more than four decades now, from time to time the question arises: "Who is actually depicted in this famous portrait of OA Kiprensky?"
