Singing forest

Sagano Bamboo Forest, also known as Sagano Bamboo Grove, is a scenic alley of thousands of towering bamboo trees. One of Japan's most amazing natural attractions is located on the western outskirts of Kyoto City in Arashiyama Park. The place has gained great popularity not only due to its extraordinary beauty, but also to the special sound that occurs as a result of the contact of the wind with slender bamboo stems. Visitors to Sagano Forest claim that this sound, vaguely reminiscent of music, has an extremely soothing effect and envelops a sense of harmony. Therefore, it is not surprising that the Japanese government introduced the sounds of the Sagano bamboo grove to the country's 100 protected landmarks.
