Prague

Prague is the capital of the Czech Republic, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, which has retained the charm of the Middle Ages. Prague stretches along the banks of the Vltava River. The city is located on five hills, divided by the river into 8 islands. The first historical information about settlements on the site of modern Prague dates back to 200 BC. It is known to have been the Celtic settlement of the Zavist. Later the Celts were driven out by the Germanic tribes. The first Slavs appeared in these places in the 6th century AD, and already in the 10th century Prague became the capital of the Czech Republic.
