A typhoon is a terrible whirlwind wind that can reach speeds of 119 kilometers (74 miles) per hour. It forms in the sea around Florida and over tropical seas, but often travels to the continent where it can cause great harm.
Typhoon Andrew, which swept over Florida in August 1992 at 235 kilometers (145 miles) per hour, caused a tidal wave 5 meters high. After that, one person had a small shark in the pool, while others had fish swimming on TVs.
