Wagtail

Wagtails are a genus of birds of the wagtail family. In early spring, slender birds with long, swaying tails appear on the banks of rivers. People say: "A wagtail arrives and breaks the ice with its tail." Of course, the wagtail does not break the ice, but it arrives when the ice has not melted yet - the rims have just appeared. But the wagtail is not afraid of the cold. She now has only one concern - to find food. There are still few insects, and wagtails are actively looking for them on the banks of reservoirs, often fly to the cattle yards, run along the still-dry alleys and paths of parks and gardens. These birds collect insects and arachnids from the ground. The wagtail lives for a month relatively carefree. Then worries will heap: the time will come to hatch the chicks.
